Preliminary Exercise – Evaluation

 Lip Sync Task Analysis 

What went well?

• The lip syncing matched the pace of the music.
• The editing of the video matches the beat of the music.
• The lip syncing matches the singing within the music.
• I used a variety of shot types, settings, lighting, costumes.
• I used a variety of camera movements.
• Good use of direct address.

What can I improve?

• The mise en scene of the music video did not reflect the genre of music.
• In some shots, the actor's lips do not open much so it is difficult to see if he is lip syncing the correct lyrics.
• The locations are not enticing for the viewer. 
• The lip syncing in the first two shots are not complete as the actor does not lip sync the final words of each line.
• The shots are random and do not follow a continual pattern e.g. low angle shots. 
• Despite the lip syncing, there is not much performance as the artist is stationary in the majority of the shots.
